I am a Friend, and a Student
When I look at my finished piece of art I smile, and feel success. I know that I put many hard working hours into this project including at least two extended lunch periods. The finished product is different then I had planned it would be. I realized I am much happier with he finished product then I had planned to finish it in the begging. During the project I kept adding parts or seeing what looked right. I definitely took advice from others especially Ms. Robert's and Mr. Brooks. I am most proud of the face that i drew and the flower that I made in her hair. The flower was made out of pencil shavings. I never believed that I could draw, but when I worked on this project I knew what I wanted to draw and I am happy at how it turned out. I think that the project tells that when I walk in the room I have this story about my life so far. I think that it also shows that I have alot of ideas in my head. I wanted the art to come off as it also shows me as an artsy funky person. I like how the pictures I used for my family stands out of the paper because they are in black and white. I think the main idea when looking at this art is showing that it is a story that I am trying to tell and that it has an artsy feel to it.

I really liked how you put your drawing onto the yellow piece of paper it really emphasizes your picture.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the idea of creating a thought bubble connecting towards you head, to emphasize that you have a lot of thoughts going through your head at a time.
ReplyDeleteSonya, I thought yours was so creative. Its so colorful and energized! You brought an artistic touch to everything that brought everything to life. I love the 3d aspect and the metaphor of the book.
ReplyDeleteI like the contrast between what you drew and the yellow background. I also thought the flower you made for your hair was really creative and it turned out well.
ReplyDeleteI think it was cool how you connected most things on your portrait by using different designs. Your portrait look great.
ReplyDeleteSonya--
ReplyDeleteI LOOOVED how you used pencil shavings as the bow in your head, that is one of the most creative things I have everrrr witnessed! I adored it! I liked how you used a book to represent what is going on in your head and how one thing kind of leads to the next. The yellow in the background makes good emphasis to the rest of the picture. Continue rocking onnn!!
Sonya i really liked that you used the pencil shavings to make the flower in you hair! it was so cool how you made a flower out of something that wouldn't typically be seen to be something that was related to a flower. I also really liked that you made the background a bright yellow while leaving the rest of the art work colors not as bright, it really emphasized the story part of your piece. i also liked how when you started at your head you could follow one thought bubble to the next and see it all like one big story. You half picture of your face was also drawn really well and looked really good! You really made it clear what were important aspects of your life with this project.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the color of the background because it emphasized the details and the thought bubble. I also liked the details you put inside the bubble and the creativity you put. Lastly i enjoyed the way you connected every thing in the bubble by using leading lines.
ReplyDeleteI really really enjoyed how you didn't just put random items that expressed you...you connected them with each other. I really like how one thing yields another and the stepping stones really really help it. I would also like to agree with Ms. R when she said the yellow background makes it pop out, THAT IS SOOO SOOO SOO true!
ReplyDeleteI really liked how in your book you had every thing being led into something else. Also how you put the fake flower in your hair when you usually have a braid in your hair. Overall I really loved your picture.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed looking at your artwork.I like how you made a 3-d flower and I enjoyed the symmetry and contrast you incorporated into your portrait. The yellow background really helped the other drawings pop. I also noticed that you somewhat followed in your brothers footsteps which was something I didn't know and it was cool to find that out through an artistic perspective.
ReplyDeleteI think even though a very tiny part in your project probablly the highlight of it, was the flower in your hair. it was hidden yet popped out once you had noticed it. I also loved the way you were able to connect everything into your life story. I think it is great that you were able to share such important things in your life with the class.
ReplyDeleteI love the background that you used because it made the picture stand out more and I love the pencil shavings you used to make that flower in your head.
